APPLICATION
|
Apex Purlins and Girts are roll-formed from Hi-Tensile zinc-coated steel. They are primarily used to provide lightweight, economical, efficient roofing and cladding support systems for framed structures. Apex Purlins and Girts are available in a range of different sizes and configurations.
C-sections have equal falnges and may be used in single spans and unlapped continuous spans in multi-bay buildings. Their freestanding stable shape allows easy handling and storage and is easily adapted for use in small and medium sized buildings as structural framework. |
|
Z-sections feature one broad and one narrow flange allowing the two sections to fit together snugly, making them suitable for lapping. z-sections of the same depth and different thickness' can be laped in any combination. Purlins and Girts that are lapped form a structuraly continuous line along the length of the building, a factor that contributes significantly to the reduction in building costs.
Downturn lip purlins are ideal in applications where environmental conditions or a build up of substances like dust or grain are a consideration.
Fascia purlins angled to suit the roof slope and an optional downturn lip for wall sheet attachment are available in long length one-piece sections. |
MATERIALS |
Apex Purlins and Girts are roll-formed from a zinc-coated, high strength, steel strip complying with AS1397.
Minimum yield stress: 450Mpa.
Standard base steel thickness: 1.0, 1.2, 1.5, 1.9, and 2.4.
Zinc coating of Z350 (350 g/m2 minimum coating mass) is the standard coating class provided. Other coatings, grades and materials may be available, subject to inquiry.

TYPICAL ASSEMBLIES |
The Angle Connector can be used in a variety of ways. The holes allow connection between sections of the same size or one size smaller. Figure (B) shows a simple mitred 90 joint. Figure (C) shows the angle connector and clamp plate used as an attachment for trimmers or non-load-bearing heads to openings. |
